Family Campground (Forest Tent Sites)
The 2020 timber harvest thinned out this wooded area significantly while, at the same time, eradicated numerous invasive blackberry snarls.
In the very near future, Sound View will be developing several more tent sites in conjunction with reforesting the harvested area with more diverse species to contribute to a healthy forest. This is a part of the strategic master plan which encourages families to spend quality time in the out-or-doors.
Presently, five very unique family-friendly tent sites are carved out of what used to be a paintball course. Each site has its own picnic table, water hose and fire-pit. There is plenty of firewood to scavenge in the surrounding woods.
The present tent-sites are named :
Cubby
Hollow
Bastion
Foxhole
Rowboat
A picnic shelter, wood-shed, and portable toilet is located at the Alder Trail head to service the campers who use this area.
