Cyber Monday Email
/Greetings From Sound View Camp!
Today (November 27) is the day we hope to get a head-start on summer camp registrations so we can proudly start the new year ahead of schedule. When you register early, it helps us plan, it gets us excited, and shows us the trends of popular weeks so we can plan our marketing strategy accordingly. We really want to fill up all four weeks of camp this summer and hope you take advantage of the incredible savings today!
Please share this email with friends whose kids could surely benefit from a week at Sound View.
Even without the 'Cyber Monday discount', Sound View remains a surprisingly affordable camp, packed with activities, fun, new adventures, great food, a caring staff and a meaningful, loving Christian message. Even when absolutely full, we are still small enough for every camper to be welcomed and accommodated with no child lost among a crowd. We like it this way! Sound View Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association.
This summer, we are offering four weeks of summer camp. We have programs within each week for kids/tween/teens, ages 6 to 15:
Mini Camp is a four-day, three-night program for kids, ages six to nine. It is designed to be a complete, nature-based experience to introduce first-timers to overnight camping.
Youth Camp is a seven-day, six-night resident camp program for kids, ages eight to fourteen. It is our traditional overnight Christian camp experience with age-appropriate activities, adventure, campfires, and the magic of being away from home with new (and old) friends and amazing leaders.
Expedition is a canoe/bike adventure for tweens/teens, ages twelve to fifteen. The campers experience both the fun of programs at Sound View, but also venture off by canoe to nearby Anderson Island to explore its freshwater lakes, historic farm and other sites by bicycle.
Leaders in Training (LIT) campers are those who will be going into tenth grade next fall. LITs take their first steps in camp leadership with some serious training, incredible fun, faith-building discussions and use what they learned helping out with the Mini Camp Program.
Older teens, going into eleventh and twelfth grade can volunteer for one to four weeks as oving leaders (Rovers). Training will be provided.
We always try to add one or two new activities each summer (in addition to all we have done before). For 2019, look out for:
The Natural Playground. We don't have a final name for it yet, but the goal will be to encourage youth (and adults) lots of 'unplugged' play, using each's unbound imagination, using tools given from nature.
An expanded farm/garden. This summer, there will be an emphasis on sustainable living and preparing tasty dishes from vegetables we have grown at camp. We are recruiting international staff to assist with this program and share what their countries are doing with gardening and farming.
A little pirate fun. Not only will you learn useful knots and sea shanties, be prepared for bold 'boffer' sword pirate battles and amazing feats of seamanship.
Registration for any Sound View session is easily done online. All that is required is a $75.00 deposit per registration. If plans change, we usually can switch your child to a different session with no penalty. If you have any trouble with the online registration process, please don't? hesitate to call (253) 884-9202. (Extension 0).
The 15% early-bird discount continues until March 1, but the additional 10% 'Cyber-Monday' savings end at midnight, November 27.
Thank you for considering Camp Sound View's life-changing summer experiences! We will catch you this summer!
