Sky High Tetherball

As part of our W H O O S H fundraiser to fix the Giant Swing, we will also add a new challenge to the BIG JUMP.

The Big Jump is also a wonderful example of “challenge by choice”. Participants can “jump”, or merely let go from any part of the element and still have great fun swinging under a secure team belay.

I would guess that about 25% of participants make it to the platform and perform the classic big jump. It takes serious will power (or temporary insanity) to merely leap off of the platform, often looking down at the ground far below. Now, imagine the participant looking up at a tetherball dingle-dangling just within jumping distance. With a mighty bound, the climber smacks the tetherball and swings down on the team belay.

The work on the ropes course (giant swing rebuild, big jump tetherball, and the annual inspection) will occur this winter.

Your #GivingTuesday and end-of-year donations will make all of this happen. THANK YOU!
