A Winter AmeriCorps NCCC Team

Wonderful News! Sound View Camp will be hosting an AmeriCorps NCCC team from early-January until late-February. We are excited to have a team during the “off-season” and have much planned for them, including…

• Working on stewardship projects around the site in partnership with the Nisqually Land Trust,

• Building split-rail fences, picnic tables, and other needed features,

• Helping develop a winter outdoor education program for schools visiting camp, as well as a traveling program for camp staff (and AmeriCorps members) to visit schools,

• Fixing canoes,

• Finishing the Max’s Garden project as a native plant teaching area,

• Continuing work of trails and signage.

AmeriCorps teams have been amazing over the past seven years - transforming Sound View into an attractive Environmental Education facility.
