Family Campground Opens April 5

During the spring, the staff gradually open up parts of camp that were buttoned-up over the winter. This means turning on water, mowing tent/RV sites, sprucing up fire pits, stocking the camp store, and bundling up firewood. Hopefully, by mid-May, Sound View is fully open.

Our family campground opens up gradually as well with the spring rain helping to determine how quickly. Tiny cabins and the larger tent-cabins are available. The forest tent sites and the RV field are ready early in the spring, while the waterfront sites have to wait until the ground dries out and nesting birds have departed.

Sound View welcomes spring campers during our opening up process! Each weekend, we always offer these activities:

  • Farm Tour (Meet the critters, help plant our vegetable garden)

  • Archery for all ages

  • Boating (weather permitting)

  • Games and crafts in the dining hall

  • Giant Swing (if we have enough participants) - $10 per person

  • Cartoons at sunset (inside or outside, depending on weather)

We serve optional meals as well:

  • Friday Dinner: Burgers, Corn on the Cob, Chips, Salad Bar

  • Saturday Breakfast: Pancakes, Sausage, Breakfast Bar

  • Saturday Lunch: Grilled Cheese, Tomato Soup, Chips, Carrot Sticks

  • Saturday Dinner: Pizza, Salad Bar

  • Sunday Breakfast: Eggs, Home Fries, Cinnamon Toast, Breakfast Bar
