Our summer youth camp is for kids ages 8 to 14. Each session is a blend of outdoor adventure, environmental education, faith building, and a whole lot of fun. Campers will have opportunities to experience archery, canoeing, kayaking, corcl (little round boat) games, ropes course, skits, songs, crazy games, crafts, worship, and a whole lot more.
Campers will stay in "tent-cabins" or classic platform tents. Cabin leaders work all week to create a positive, caring family out of their cabin groups - helping each camper set goals and participate in small and large group activities. With a capacity of fifty-six campers and eight cabin leaders, Sound View is the just the right size for all to feel welcome and appreciated.
SUNDAY
Sunday is all about campers and cabin leaders getting to know each other. There is also time to sign up for three skill activities and participate in the opening cam[fire.
MONDAY through THURSDAY
We follow a simple routine for these days at camp. Wake up, morning gathering, a relaxed breakfast (eaten outdoors), cabin activity, first skill activity, adventure lunch (eaten outdoors), rest hour, second skill activity, camp store, third skill activity, dinner (eaten outdoors), evening programs, cabin vespers, and bedtime.
FRIDAY
We make Fridays (the last full day of camp) really special. It includes show and tell, kangaroo court, special games, Sojourners ceremonies, and closing campfire. Parents can opt to pick up their kids late Friday night if this is more convenient.
SATURDAY
Saturdays are for final goodbyes, packing, and a 10:00 am pick up. Parents should be prepared for a car ride home with wonderful stories told.
