I love our giant swing!

I love it because it takes a team effort to run.

I love it because it is a perfect example of “challenge by choice”. One goes as high as they are comfortable.

I love it because it sets up easily and only takes one staff member to operate. This allows our small team to offer it to most groups.

I just love the giant swing!

But, what I love the most is the W H O O S H. What’s the W H O O S H you ask? Well, when a person, kid or adult, is pulled up all the way, 50 feet above the ground, pulls the quick release to begin the swing, there is an audible W H O O S H as they go flying by. The W H O O S H makes me smile. Sometimes my smile is as big as the person doing the W H O O S H I N G because I know they are having the time of their life.

This summer, the giant swing passed all of the structural tests which make it safe , but unfortunately, being over 10 years old, it failed and must be rebuilt. The ropes course industry in the US is safe because of strict regulations and at Sound View, we rebuild and modify elements as required by our inspectors. This summer, the zip line was rebuilt and was a hit. We really want the giant swing back for 2024.

The pricetag to rebuild the giant swing is $7,000. For our end-of-the-year #GivingTuesday fundraiser we are asking for your financial support to bring back the W H O O S H.
