Are you ready for something different? Sound View Camp is located in a remarkable area of Puget Sound that just beckons exploration. State parks, islands, and natural wonders are just a paddle away from our smooth, sandy beach. Expedition campers are always on the go – ready to camp out (wherever), cook their own food, and meet new people. As an Expedition Camper, you get the best of both worlds on and off camp property.
In a nutshell: Expedition is a week-long program which introduces campers to overnight canoe trips, tent camping, and outdoor cooking.
Arrival/Departure: Camp begins 4:00 pm Sunday, and ends 10:00 am Saturday.
Accommodations: Expedition campers set up a “base camp” near the waterfront with comfortable mattresses within their tents. Toilets are close by, but they will have to hike into main camp for showers. For two nights, they will canoe to local campgrounds and set up camp there.
Activities: Much time will be spent early in the week preparing the campers for canoe trips and learning necessary skills. Other time will be spent at traditional Sound View activities such as the challenge course and paintball.
